Three Quarter Creep
Recorded November 2006
A comment calling Sharp out on its Thom Yorke-ism reminded me that I had recorded a version of Creep at some point last week. Before anyone has a listen and mistakes me for a one-trick pony just because this song is in 3/4, let me remind you that my cover of Tainted Love was in 6/8—a completely different time signature all together (or so they say).
This track was recorded live, using the built-in mic on a MacBook with Audio Recorder. The falsetto during the bridge gets a little drowned out by the din of the guitar—what are you gonna do? Capo on the third fret because I’m lazy.
Interesting tidbit: The only two songs in my current repertoire that aren’t in 4/4 are both covers. But neither were written in the signature I play them in. I can’t remember the last time I wrote a song in 3/4…

Ok, that one’s been added to iTunes. I really enjoyed that (enjoyed the partial demo of “Sharp” as well).
Oh, cover Pyrramid Song (Amnesiac Anyone?), please do.
If you’ve heard the song, you’ll get the humor.
Love Kid A and Amnesiac (Idioteque is playing right now actually). The only thing funny about me covering Pyramid Song is the mess I would make of it. As soon as I get comfortable with the signature he inserts an extra beat. That song is a musical M.C. Escher.
Dude, that was super good!
Thomas, if you like this you should check out Thom’s solo acoustic version available on the Itch EP. It comes as no surprise that it puts my amateur attempts to shame.
Shaun, this stuff makes me feel so stupid due to the fact that I never learned to play an instrument …
“Shaun Inman. one man. many talents.”
Very nice work! B!
